A high school diploma or GED Certificate a plus Possess the ability to exhibit grace and love in all situations to campers and fellow staff Be available to work during June and July 2008 up to five weeks --or eight weeks for program director.

Job Description:

Program Director: Responsible for implementing current camp weeks, adding ideas from experience to enhance the existing program. Trains and supervises counselors, Jr. Counselors, and CITs in coordination with Camp Director. Includes set up for camp and closing at end of the five weeks. Salary based on experience-$1500 start.

Counselors: The connecting link between the camper and all other aspects of camp. While campers are present, you will be with them 24 hours a day—ok, you may take short breaks when other adults are in charge of an activity. Responsibilities will include leading cabin Bible study, consoling and counseling, staying in the cabins with campers. At other times, you will assist with activities, office work, maintenance, and/or in the kitchen. (Camp provides lots of manual labor ops!) Your most important task will be to make sure each camper has an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel or if already a believer, to grow in his/her faith.

Extra pay for counselors who can also serve as lifeguard or nurse.

Room and board will be provided. Salary--$150/wk up. If additional salary is desired, applicant may raise his or her own funds through New Dawn International Ministries. We will work with community service, missions and intern requirements. Must have own medical expense coverage and give permission for drug and background checks. Will be under the direct supervision of the program director. If commitment of full schedule is not possible, ask about weekly jobs.

Schedule:
  • June 13-17: Orientation--required
  • June 18-20: Mini-camp for campers entering grades 2-3
  • June 22-27: Children’s Camp, for campers entering grades 1-6
  • June 29-July 4: Middle School Camp, for campers entering grades 6-8
  • July 6-July 11: Cove Adventure, for campers entering grades 9-12
  • July 13-18: Soccer Camp for campers entering grades 1-12
