What is the Chamber of Commerce?
The Walker County Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of professionals who have joined for promoting the civic and commercial progress of the county.
The Chamber's vision is "united to enchance the quality of life for the citizens of Walker County by promoting business, communities, tourism, and economic development."
The Chamber is governed by a board of directors who are elected on a yearly basis.

Executive Division

- Guide the operations, administration and finance of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce
Education & Community Development Division
Division Chair: Melody Day
- Education Committee: Chair, Brenda Noblitt
- Establish a youth leadership program
- Create a list of interested Chamber members who will participate in the schools’ Career Days
- Promote Walker County’s educational distinctions (ie: Chamber publications)
- Put on the STAR program in coordination with the three community high schools
- Put on the GOAL program in coordination with Northwestern Technical College

- Organize the 2008-09 Leadership Walker County class
- Investigate a Leadership Walker County Alumni Group

Governmental & Legislative Affairs Division

- Visit with the 2008 Georgia General Assembly
- Determine what issues we need to be concerned with as a Chamber
- Forward the Georgia Chamber newsletter to the Chamber membership during the session to keep them informed of relevant issues
- Sponsor a State of the County address by Commissioner Heiskell
- Determine if it would be beneficial to host an Eggs & Issues breakfast for the 2009 Session. If yes, execute
- Host a Candidate’s Forum for the November 2008 elections
- Investigate the need to hold a Legislative Reception to welcome newly elected officials
Business Development Division
